Open Hole Yamaha Flute- Sterling Silver Handcut "EC" Headjoint, Silver Plated Body and Foot, B foot with Gizmo Key, Inline G, White Gold Springs, French Pointed Key Arms. Considered an advanced/professional flute. This flute is now called model 587.

This flute gets an incredibly rich and versatile tone in all registers, and projects amazingly well. If you've been playing on a Yamaha with a factory cut headjoint, the difference you'll get with this handcut "EC" headjoint is incredible!

First off, let me say that I LOVE the 500 and 600 series Yamaha flutes. I think they're an incredible amount of bang for your buck. Now with that out of the way, this Yamaha 584 (now called 587) has just been freshly serviced and cleaned (including 8 new pads), and sounds amazing from top to bottom! It has a sterling silver EC head, silver plated body, french pointed key arms, B footjoint, open holes (and I will sell it with a set of cork hole plugs), and a C# trill. It does show a small blemish on the lip plate (as seen in photos- does not affect embouchure hole) and some light scratches here and there from normal use, but is otherwise just lovely. Case shows cosmetic wear but is fully functional and fits the flute snugly.

This flute would make a wonderful upgrade from a student flute or from a lesser intermediate model.

For reference, the model 587 with C# trill is selling new right now for $2900+. The only difference between that flute and this one is the headjoint cut, with many folks preferring this headjoint over the new one.
